American International Hospital (AIH) has signed a Medical Cooperation Agreement with Raffles Hospital Singapore to improve the quality and scope of patient care and treatment in Vietnam. The two sides announced plans to establish an Orthopedic Trauma Center and a Cancer Center at AIH. At the same time, AIH will also synchronize its clinical management system, hospital processes and policies according to Raffles Hospital Singapore's standards.
General Director of American International Hospital (AIH) Nguyen Thi My Linh and General Director of Raffles Hospital Singapore Tan Hsiang Lung represented the two sides to sign the Cooperation Agreement.
This collaboration opens up opportunities for patients to access advanced medical treatments with Singaporean quality standards right in Vietnam. This not only strengthens the professional relationship between the two leading healthcare systems but also contributes to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s healthcare sector.
Under the agreement, the AIH Orthopedic Trauma Centre and the AIH Oncology Centre will be established to screen, diagnose and treat patients according to international standards. The two centres will operate under close coordination between AIH's experienced medical team and experts from Raffles Hospital Singapore. Experts from Raffles Hospital Singapore will participate in joint treatment and provide second professional opinions to AIH patients through regular visits.
Orthopaedic patients will have access to advanced surgical techniques, including joint replacement and spinal reconstruction, at AIH Orthopaedic Centre and Raffles Hospital Singapore.
Patients treated at the AIH Cancer Centre will receive expert review of their clinical and pathological findings from Raffles Hospital Singapore, as well as access to high-tech treatments such as robotic surgery and proton therapy.
To support professional development and ensure medical quality for the two centers, Raffles Hospital Singapore not only shares experiences, transfers technology and advanced treatment methods but also monitors the quality of clinical services at AIH.
AIH will adopt internationally-standardized clinical and imaging protocols from the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Raffles Hospital Singapore. AIH’s laboratory will also be upgraded through the adoption of an External Quality Assurance (EQA) program with support from Raffles Hospital Singapore’s laboratory, which is accredited by the American College of Clinical Pathologists (CAP).
Through the Medical Cooperation Agreement, the two sides aim to improve the quality and scope of patient care and treatment in Vietnam.
AIH and Raffles Hospital Singapore will also enhance clinical training through professional exchange programs and organize online medical/healthcare seminars/conferences. Doctors at AIH will also have the opportunity to participate in professional observation programs at Raffles Hospital Singapore to enhance their medical skills and international experience. Both AIH and Raffles Hospital Singapore will also explore clinical research collaboration opportunities through clinical trials and applied research in Singapore and/or Vietnam.
