Vietnamese fruits attract international visitors at Asia Fruit Logistica Fair

The Asia Fruit Logistica 2025, taking place from September 3-5 at the AsiaWorld - Expo Convention and Exhibition Center in Hong Kong (China), has attracted the participation of 760 exhibitors from 42 countries and territories around the world and is expected to attract 13,500 visitors and buyers.

Vietnam's regional fruit specialties such as durian, dragon fruit, banana, mango, coconut and grapefruit... have received much attention, making a great impression on local and international partners.

Within the framework of the National Trade Promotion Program 2025 chaired by the Department of Trade Promotion, Ministry of Industry and Trade , the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (Vinafruit) organized for 22 enterprises with 24 booths to participate in Asia Fruit Logistica 2025.

Vietnamese fruit and vegetable production, processing and export enterprises participating in Asia Fruit Logistica 2025 this year include many famous names such as Chanh Thu Fruit Import-Export Corporation, Vina T&T Group , Pico Agriviet, Ant Farm, Agrochain Vietnam, Phulimex, Saolafarm.... Right on the first day of the fair, a number of Vietnamese enterprises received large-value orders.

Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, said that Vietnam's regional fruit specialties have received much attention from customers from China, India, and also from the Middle East, Korea, and Japan, and have also sold a lot of products to these customers.

At the fair, durian was the item that most customers were interested in, followed by dragon fruit, bananas, mangoes, and coconuts, mainly Chinese customers, while Indian customers were more interested in dragon fruit.

Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen shared that many businesses that participated last year will continue to participate this year, showing the effectiveness and attractiveness of Asia Fruit Logistica. Businesses participating in the fair will be representatives and factors contributing to promoting the export of Vietnamese fruits and vegetables.

Vietnam's fruit and vegetable export turnover has grown rapidly after the COVID-19 pandemic, before the pandemic it only reached nearly 3.5 billion USD/year, after the pandemic, that is, starting from 2023 it will reach 5.6 billion USD and in 2024 it will be 7.1 billion USD.

However, Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen also noted that fruit exports this year are more difficult, the Chinese market requires higher product quality, the US market faces reciprocal taxes, so increasing turnover for the fruit and vegetable industry is also difficult, hoping that the annual turnover will reach the same level as in 2024.

Ms. Ngo Tuong Vy - General Director of Chanh Thu Fruit Import-Export Corporation - shared that this fair is an opportunity for businesses in the fruit industry to promote their brands, meet partners, and discuss plans for the coming year.

According to Ms. Tuong Vy, this year's fair was more exciting than previous years, especially new partners also came to Vietnam's booth, some partners outside of China also paid much attention to Vietnamese durian.

Ms. Tuong Vy hopes that in the coming time, businesses will pay more attention to the issue of brand promotion and Asia Fruit Logistica is one of the very important fairs in the fruit industry. In addition to fresh products, businesses will participate in more fairs on deeply processed products, because this is one of the conditions for Vietnam's agricultural products and fruits with economic value to be promoted more widely.

Mr. Liu Guiyu - Purchasing Director at Hunan Greenery Fruit Company (China) said that the company is currently importing more and more products from Vietnam, along with the increasing quantity of Chinese fruits imported from Vietnam, the quality of Vietnamese fruits is also gradually improving. He said that the company has cooperated with a number of Vietnamese partners for many years and will strengthen cooperation further.

According to Mr. Luu Que Vu, in general, the quality of Vietnamese fruits is constantly improving, there is still much potential for development in the future and will increase cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises if they meet the conditions and standards of their enterprises.
