Recently, the Hanoi People's Committee issued a plan to implement the Project of investing and developing 5 districts into districts of Dong Anh, Gia Lam, Thanh Tri, Hoai Duc, and Dan Phuong. In which, Gia Lam is expected to become a district in early 2025. Up to now, Gia Lam district has completed 31/31 criteria for establishing a district.
