Awarding ceremony of the contest of writing essays and composing songs about the armed forces

(GLO)- On the morning of July 17, the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command coordinated with the Provincial Literature and Arts Association to organize a summary and award ceremony for the essay writing and song composition contest on the topic of the armed forces of Binh Dinh province (old).

The essay writing and songwriting contest on the theme of the Armed Forces of Binh Dinh province (old) takes place from June 15, 2024 - June 30, 2025, divided into 2 phases (phase 1 from June 15, 2024 - November 30, 2024; phase 2 from December 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025), aiming to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Armed Forces of Binh Dinh province (July 19, 1945 - July 19, 2025).

The contest received 25 essays and 28 songs about the provincial armed forces. The organizing committee selected and unanimously awarded 2 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 4 C prizes and 9 consolation prizes in both categories. In which, the A prize in the essay category belonged to the series of works “ Looking in the eyes of children” and “ Eliminating temporary houses, building trust” by author Van Phi and the A prize in the song composition category belonged to author Hoang Dung with the song “The glory of Binh Dinh provincial armed forces, the glory of the Vietnam People’s Army ”.

Among the participating essays, there are many outstanding works, vividly and truthfully depicting the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers with a good and touching perspective. Mr. Nguyen Van Phi (Van Phi), author of the series of articles that won the A prize in the essay category, shared: " Looking in the eyes of children tells the story of orphans from the Covid-19 pandemic and the image of soldiers sponsoring the children. My work wants to spread the humanity and nobility of the program as well as the sharing and boundless love of the provincial military soldiers for children in difficult circumstances."

In the song category, author Hoang Dung, owner of the song "The glory of Binh Dinh Provincial Armed Forces, the Vietnam People's Army" which won the A prize, shared: "From the emotions during field trips to the red addresses, being in contact with veterans, listening to them recount their exploits and battles created strong emotions that urged me to compose. The song is a tribute to the generation who fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. Through that, let the young generation remember their merits and strive to build the country."

According to Mr. Tran Quang Khanh, former Vice President of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, this is the second time the Literature and Arts Association has coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to organize a song writing and composition contest to celebrate the Traditional Day of the Provincial Armed Forces. The contest gathered many high-quality works, vividly and realistically depicting the image of soldiers in the provincial armed forces. Through the contest, typical examples of the provincial armed forces were highlighted, the most consistent and beautiful activities of the armed forces were vividly reflected, some articles were very touching.

The contest of writing essays and composing songs on the theme of the Armed Forces of Binh Dinh province (old) has created a spread, contributing to educating and propagating to cadres, soldiers and people to deeply understand the tradition of the Armed Forces of the province. Thereby arousing the sentiment, responsibility and pride in cadres, soldiers and people for the 80-year process of building, fighting and strengthening the Armed Forces of the province.
