This morning, the 12.7mm machine gun militia platoon of Ha Tinh town held a meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Nui Nai Victory (March 26, 1965 - March 26, 2025).
Delegates attended the meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first victory of the 12th Ly 7 Platoon of Ha Tinh town, the unit awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.
At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the fierce war years together, with the spirit of solidarity, steadfast and heroic fighting spirit, the militia platoon soldiers of Ha Tinh town together with the anti-aircraft artillery unit stationed in the area, and the militia forces of wards and communes made a historic victory in the first battle against the US on March 26, 1965; together with the forces shot down 12 US enemy planes, including 9 planes in Ha Tinh town.
After the first victory over the US on March 26, 1965, the 12.7mm machine gun militia platoon of Ha Tinh town also participated in many battles to protect traffic arteries such as Cau Cay, Cau Dong, Cau Phu and the Ha Tinh town area, shooting down 4 more US aircraft. During the fighting and serving in the fighting, 10 soldiers heroically sacrificed on the battlefields, 25 comrades were wounded and sick.
In recognition of the unit's achievements, in 2013, the 12.7mm Machine Gun Platoon of Ha Tinh town was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State.
Veterans of the 12th Platoon, 7th Division, Ha Tinh town offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs at Nui Nai Cemetery, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the first victory on March 26, 1965.
The 60th anniversary of the Nui Nai Victory is an opportunity to review the heroic revolutionary tradition of the homeland, to arouse national pride in building and defending the Fatherland. On this occasion, soldiers of the 12.7mm Machine Gun Platoon of Ha Tinh town came to offer incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and burn incense to the heroic martyrs who are resting at Nui Nai Martyrs Cemetery.
