Cuban media reports prominently on relations with Vietnam

Cuban media have simultaneously published news and articles about the official visit to Vietnam from August 31 to September 2 of First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, highlighting the special solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two brotherly peoples.

During the visit, the Cuban leader held talks and bilateral meetings with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , To Lam, and many high-ranking Vietnamese leaders, and attended the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day on September 2 and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations.

According to Granma, Cubadebate, Cubasí, Prensa Latina, ACN, President Díaz-Canel praised the enthusiasm, fighting spirit and patriotism of the Vietnamese people; and expressed: "These days, wherever he goes, he and the Cuban delegation always receive great affection and love for the Cuban Revolution."

The Cuban leader appreciated the renewal and promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation since General Secretary To Lam 's visit to Cuba in September 2024, and reaffirmed the importance of both Communist Parties strengthening relations in all fields.

President Díaz-Canel and General Secretary To Lam presided over the exchange of agreements and memorandums of understanding signed in the fields of rice production, comprehensive cooperation, health, document management and archives, and the establishment of a pharmaceutical joint venture.

The Cuban President also attended a ceremony to symbolically hand over 14.5 million USD of the first phase of a support campaign to Cuba launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Society to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Vietnam-Cuba friendship.

During these days, all of Cuba's official media also published articles and interviews with officials, former officials, and Vietnamese Ambassadors to Cuba and Cuban Ambassadors to Vietnam about the affection and friendship between the two brotherly peoples of Cuba and Vietnam.

On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025), at 8:10 p.m. (Hanoi time) and 9:10 a.m. (Havana time) on September 2, Vietnam Television and Cuba will jointly broadcast the short film "Seeds of Happiness" on Vietnam-Cuba rice production cooperation, one of the projects to materialize the agreements reached during General Secretary To Lam's visit to Cuba in September 2024./.
