Vietnam team wins third consecutive match at U21 Women's Volleyball World Cup

(NLDO) – Winning two dream opening victories, the U21 Vietnam team continued to defeat U21 Canada, advancing closer to the quarter-finals of the 2025 U21 Women's Volleyball World Cup.

Without setting any performance targets before leaving for Indonesia to participate in the first U21 Women's World Championship, the Vietnam U21 volleyball team has been taking home fans through different emotions with each match.

After defeating host Indonesia on the opening day, coach Nguyen Trong Linh and his team unexpectedly defeated the 2021 world runner-up Serbia with a convincing performance in both expertise and fighting spirit.

Vietnam U21 team off to a good start

Not stopping there, in the third match on the afternoon of August 9 with U21 Canada, the young Vietnamese players continued to extend their winning streak when they defeated their North American opponent after four games. U21 Canada is not too strong, having lost both opening matches, but the fighting spirit of the team under coach Olivier Faucher is extremely resilient.

Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team won all 3 matches

In the first game, both teams started the game very cautiously, fighting for each point in an exciting way. However, from the score of 13-13, the U21 Vietnam team accelerated, creating a 4-point gap and then maintained this safe gap until the end of the game at the score of 25-19.

U21 Canada resiliently tied after two games

The U21 Vietnam team played well in both attack and defense, especially their blocking ability was very impressive. Unfortunately, the second game was tilted towards Canada in the final minutes. Losing with a score of 24-26 was a bit regrettable for U21 Vietnam.

Standing up from the right place, the U21 Vietnam team "tit for tat" with U21 Canada in the third game. Captain Dang Hong affirmed his important role with his excellent ability to cut points while other positions such as Bich Hue and Quynh Huong were also excellent in both attacking and blocking. U21 Canada had difficulty and lost with a score of 19-25.

U21 Vietnam won the fourth game 25-5

Entering the fourth set, U21 Vietnam continuously scored points from their serves and blocks to lead their opponents 13-0. The gap was maintained 16-1, 18-3 and ended with a score of 25-5 for U21 Vietnam, bringing home the third consecutive victory at the world tournament taking place in Surabaya, Indonesia.

Vietnam U21 team dreams of competing for a ticket to the quarter-finals of the World Championship

Defeating U21 Canada with a score of 3-1 (25-19; 24-26; 25-19; 25-5) , the U21 Vietnam team made strong progress in the world arena. The team will have a day off (August 10) and will meet U21 Argentina on August 11 to compete for the top spot in the group and the first official ticket of group A to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
