On June 16, Comrade Mai Xuan Liem, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee signed a document to send to the Provincial Police, Provincial Military Command, Air Force Regiment 923, Tho Xuan Airport Authority, Tho Xuan Airport and related units on disseminating the law and reviewing the ownership and use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Never use unlicensed drones.
To ensure absolute safety and aviation security, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province requested localities to strengthen propaganda, education , and raise people's awareness of complying with legal regulations related to the ownership and use of flying equipment (UAV, flycam, drone), permitted flying areas, and responsibilities during use.
Absolutely do not arbitrarily own or use drones without inspection and licensing by competent authorities.
It is strictly forbidden to operate or control drones or fly folk kites in airports, airfields, security and defense zones and prohibited areas according to law.
Review and compile statistics on ownership and use of drones
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to review and compile statistics on the ownership and use of drones by organizations and individuals in the area (including businesses selling related equipment and services).
The authorities need to resolutely combat the illegal possession, storage and use of flying devices. At the same time, mobilize the masses to participate in monitoring and reporting the unauthorized use of flying devices and flying kites in restricted areas and areas requiring security, especially strange flying devices of unknown origin and with unusual activities.
People need to promptly provide information and images (if any) to the authorities to support the inspection, verification and handling work.
Ensuring absolute safety for aviation operations
The Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested Air Force Regiment 923 to continue to closely coordinate with the Provincial Military Command, Tho Xuan Airport Authority, Tho Xuan Airport and relevant agencies to closely monitor the situation, promptly have plans to handle situations arising from illegal intrusion of unmanned aerial vehicles, ensuring absolute safety for aviation activities.
From June 13 to 15, a number of flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa were forced to divert to Noi Bai Airport or Vinh Airport, due to many drones continuously appearing in the Tho Xuan Airport area. On June 15, the Civil Aviation Authority issued an urgent document directing Tho Xuan Airport to closely coordinate with air traffic control, aviation security forces, the military and relevant agencies to promptly detect and handle illegal intruding aircraft. On June 16, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam decided that Tho Xuan airport (Thanh Hoa) would temporarily stop receiving aircraft from 6:00 p.m. on June 16 to 6:00 a.m. on June 17 to ensure safety. |
