Striker Lee Young Jun was the hero who helped the U23 Korea Republic win 2-0 against the U23 China. The player from Gimcheon Sangmu scored a double in the 34th and 68th minutes after some classy moves.
This victory, along with Japan U23 defeating UAE U23, helped Korea U23 quickly secure a ticket to the quarterfinals of the 2024 AFC U23 Championship. Meanwhile, China U23 continued their disappointment when they failed to score for the second consecutive match and lost.
Lee Young Jun has become a standout player in the 2024 AFC U23 Championship with three goals. Before scoring a double against China U23, the striker scored the only goal to help South Korea U23 beat UAE U23 1-0.
