In the 2025 enrollment season, while many universities are currently recruiting students based on their academic records, others still plan to reserve 60-65% of their total enrollment criteria for this method.
At Gia Dinh University, Dr. Mai Duc Toan, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center, said that this year the school plans to reserve 65% of the total enrollment quota for the high school transcript review method.
According to the draft admission regulations, Gia Dinh University will use the academic results of the semesters in grades 11 and 12 for admission. At the same time, the school will also apply new combinations, closely following the 2018 general education program to ensure compliance with the candidates' learning orientation.
In addition, the school will consider admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam and the results of the 2025 capacity assessment exam by Ho Chi Minh City National University.
In 2025, Cuu Long University will enroll students in 3 ways: considering high school graduation exam scores, considering high school transcripts, and considering academic results from intermediate level and above.
In which, the method of considering academic records accounts for 60% of the total enrollment target. In this method, the school uses the average score of the entire 12th grade year of the combination of 3 subjects for admission according to the regulations in the enrollment regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training .
Thus, compared to 2024, the school's 2025 report card method will no longer use the average score of all subjects in semester 2 of grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12; the average score of the combination of 3 subjects in semester 2 of grade 11, semester 1 of grade 12 and the average score of the entire grade 12 year of all subjects.

In 2025, Yersin University of Dalat plans to enroll 1,756 students for 17 majors with 3 admission methods, including: considering high school graduation exam scores (55 - 60% of total enrollment); considering Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment exam scores (5 - 10%); considering academic records (35 - 40%).
With the method of considering transcripts, the school plans to use the average score of grade 12 according to the subject combination or the graduation score of the candidate. The subject combinations will be based on Math, Literature, English, and at the same time, add subject combinations with Technology, Economic Education and Law to consider admission for appropriate majors.
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade plans to reserve a maximum of 20% of its enrollment quota for considering academic records in the 2025 admission season, a 10% decrease compared to 2024.
Besides, many universities continue to use the method of considering high school transcripts for admission but have not announced specific quotas such as: Forestry University, Long An University of Industry and Economics, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Dalat University, Saigon International University...
In 2025, many major universities announced that they would abandon the admission method based on academic records.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced that it will no longer use high school transcript scores in admission methods from 2025. In previous years, high school transcript scores were used by the school to independently consider admission to the school (10% of the target) or in combination with competency assessment test scores (30-40% of the target).
Ho Chi Minh City National University has decided to reduce the university admission methods to 3 from 2025. With this decision, schools under Ho Chi Minh City National University will move towards eliminating the priority admission method of considering student transcripts at more than 100 high schools nationwide (according to the list updated annually) to ensure fairness and help candidates avoid confusion.
The National Economics University also abandoned the method of admission based on academic records. The reason given by the school is that over the years, the school has realized that most of the excellent students in specialized schools are qualified for admission based on international certificates or individual exam scores. Eliminating the method of admission based on academic records will reduce the false rate, because a candidate can use many methods.
Hanoi Medical University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Law also do not consider admission based on academic records because of concerns about unfairness to candidates (because the exam standards and scoring in each high school are different).
