Railway transport reports big profit after 2 months of merger

Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has just announced a profit of more than 1.3 billion VND from production and business activities in November and December 2024 after merging Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company and Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company from November 1, 2024.

Accordingly, after 2 months of operating under the consolidated model, the revenue targets of this enterprise all exceeded the plan: Revenue from freight transport reached nearly 283 billion VND, exceeding by nearly 8.9%; Revenue from passenger and baggage transport reached more than 311 billion VND, exceeding by 3.9%; Total revenue and income reached more than 682.8 billion VND, exceeding by more than 3%.

Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said that this result was achieved because the railway has promoted passenger transport products, especially targeting group tourists and experiential tourists such as the Central Heritage cruise train between Hue - Da Nang, charter trains, etc. Therefore, in addition to regular passengers, the railway has transported many large groups of tourists, bringing in stable revenue.

Regarding the 2025 target, the company plans to achieve revenue of VND 5,196 billion, after-tax profit of more than VND 25 billion. Continue to offer passenger transport products aimed at tourists such as charter trains, full-car services, community cars; expand links with localities and tourism businesses to organize train tours, sell and contract train itineraries. Continue to apply many big promotions

Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said it is applying many programs to reduce group ticket prices for passenger trains on all routes.

Accordingly, for the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, groups of 11-40 people who buy tickets 10-19 days in advance will receive a 4% discount on ticket prices; groups of 20 days or more in advance will receive a 6% discount. Groups of 41-70 people will receive a 6% and 8% discount, respectively; groups of 71-100 people will receive a 8% and 10% discount, respectively; groups of 101 people or more will receive a 10% and 12% discount.

Hanoi - Hai Phong route, groups of 11-41 people get a 9% discount on ticket prices; from 42-70 people, the discount is 11%; groups of 71-100 people, the discount is 13%; groups of 100 people or more, the discount is 15%. To get a discount, the group needs to buy tickets 24 hours before the train departs.

Hanoi - Lao Cai route, groups of 11-28 people get a 5% discount on train tickets for SP1, SP3 Hanoi - Lao Cai; 11% discount on trains SP2, SP4, SP10 Lao Cai - Hanoi.

Groups of 29-56 people buying tickets will receive discounts of 7% and 13% respectively; groups of 56 people or more will receive discounts of 9% and 15% respectively.

Currently, between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the railway operates daily trains: SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8. Between Hanoi and Vinh, trains NA1/NA2 run daily; between Hanoi and Da Nang, trains SE19/SE20 run daily.

Between Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang, the SE21/SE22 train pair runs daily; between Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang, the SNT1/SNT2 train pair runs daily; between Ho Chi Minh City - Phan Thiet, the SPT1/SPT2 train pair runs on weekends, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; between Ho Chi Minh City - Quy Nhon, the SE30 train departs from Saigon station every Friday, and the SE29 train departs from Quy Nhon station every Sunday.

Between Hue - Da Nang, there are 2 pairs of trains connecting heritage daily: HD1/HD2, HD3/HD4.

Between Hanoi - Hai Phong there are train pairs: HP1/HP2, LP5/LP6, LP2/3, LP7/LP8.

Between Hanoi - Lao Cai, currently the SP3 train regularly departs from Hanoi station at 22:00 and arrives at Lao Cai station at 5:55; the SP7 train departs at 22:40 and arrives at 6:25. In the opposite direction, the SP4 train departs from Lao Cai station at 9:30 and arrives at Hanoi station at 5:35; the SP8 train departs at 12:05 and arrives at 19:37.

In addition, the railway still maintains a ticket discount policy for social policy beneficiaries: Vietnamese heroic mothers, war invalids, seriously ill soldiers, people with disabilities, children, students, union members, etc.
