Finishing up temporary and dilapidated houses: Diversifying resources

Motivation from credit sources

Behind every new home built is a story of dreams coming true, and credit is one of the key drivers.

In 2025, the Social Policy Bank (CSXH) Branch in Da Nang City closely coordinated with authorities at all levels to prioritize additional loans for poor households and policy beneficiaries.

Typically, 50 billion VND from the local budget has been set aside to implement the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister . Thanks to that, in just over three months (from May 7 to August 15, 2025), the bank has disbursed 51.2 billion VND, creating conditions for 1,385 households to borrow capital to build new and repair houses.

Of these, 119 policy households received loans of 4 billion VND - a meaningful gratitude for their contributions.

Previously, implementing Decree No. 28/2022/ND-CP dated April 26, 2022 of the Government on credit for the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the City Branch of the Bank for Social Policies also disbursed 115.4 billion VND to nearly 2,300 households, of which 1,125 households were able to renovate and repair their homes.

Thanks to flexible policies such as low interest rates, suitable loan amounts, long-term loan terms and simple procedures, credit capital not only helps poor households and ethnic minority households have a solid and safe house but also creates strong motivation for them to stabilize their lives and gradually escape poverty sustainably.

"Bridge" of the front

In the success of the temporary housing elimination program, it is impossible not to mention the connecting role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city.

Responding to the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister, the Standing Committee of the City Fatherland Front Committee issued an appeal and received strong response from all walks of life, from cadres, civil servants, armed forces, businesses to religious organizations and overseas Vietnamese.

Those feelings and sharing have turned into practical actions. Up to now, the Fund for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses at all levels in the city has mobilized more than 145 billion VND.

From this fund, 3,564 houses have been built or repaired, contributing to bringing stable and safe lives to thousands of households.

Not only in cash, the tradition of solidarity and neighborly love is also demonstrated through concrete actions. The grassroots front has coordinated and mobilized more than 6,181 working days, along with hundreds of thousands of bricks, dozens of blocks of sand... to help people build houses.

From the mobilized fund, the City Fatherland Front Committee also supported the construction of 10 new houses worth 600 million VND for poor households in Ea Le commune, Dak Lak province (old), demonstrating the spirit of unlimited sharing.

In particular, supervision work is also focused on, with 11 teams established to ensure all support goes to the right people, right job.

With the spirit of "Joining hands for the poor, leaving no one behind", in the period of 2021 - 2024, the Fund for the Poor has mobilized more than 385 billion VND, supporting the construction and repair of more than 6,200 solidarity houses. Tens of thousands of poor households have been supported with livelihoods and means of production, gradually rising up to escape poverty sustainably.
