Why is being a nanny for princes and princesses so hard yet many people still accept it?

The feudal court had a rule that after birth, princes and princesses would not be raised by their biological mothers. They would be cared for by nannies, also known as wet nurses.

Why concubines are not allowed to take care of their biological children?

There are four main reasons for this requirement.

Firstly, in feudal times, only the rich and powerful could hire nannies. Therefore, hiring a nanny to take care of the children in the house was like a way to show off wealth and abundance.

Therefore, to prevent political forces from attracting and taking over, the royal court issued a rule that princes and princesses would not follow their biological mothers but would be taken care of by private nannies.

The nanny in the palace is very miserable.

According to historical records, during the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Pu Yi had a wet nurse named Wang Xiao. She was born into a very poor farming family. Because she needed money, Wang Xiao asked to enter the imperial court to be Pu Yi's wet nurse.

Next, Wang Xiaoshi was absolutely not allowed to see her daughter even though she had just given birth.
