Vietnam and Singapore won the overall championship of the VIMC 2025 International Mathematics Competition

The 25th International Mathematics Competition - VIMC 2025 ended in Da Nang on August 18, with the overall championship title belonging to the Vietnamese and Singaporean teams.

At the program, Mr. Mai Quang Huy, representative of the VIMC 2025 Jury, said that this year's exam covered many diverse areas of mathematics.

Not only stopping at the correct solution, the judges were also impressed by the richness of the approach.

"Many problems have multiple valid solutions, and we are happy to see students find creative ways to do it," Mr. Huy shared.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - affirmed that the exam is not only a place to test intelligence but also an opportunity for cultural exchange, connecting friendships and spreading the desire to conquer knowledge.

He expressed his belief that each candidate will bring home not only the results of an exam but also international friendships and memorable experiences in Da Nang - the city of peace , creativity and integration.

At the closing ceremony, the organizers awarded prizes at three levels: individual, team and team. The team championship went to Vietnam and Singapore. The individual category had 147 medals.

Of which, the Vietnamese team won 18 individual awards (6 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 8 bronze medals). In the team category, the individual competition had 42 medals, the group competition had 36 medals.

In addition, the organizing committee also awarded secondary prizes, including cultural exchange prizes (4 categories: friendliness, cooperation, creativity, and impression) and intellectual challenge game prizes (Puzzle Challenge) for outstanding teams.

Also at the ceremony, the organizing committee awarded the IMC 2026 hosting flag to the Mongolian delegation.
