Vietnam Airlines is the most punctual airline in Vietnam , according to statistics from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam in the first 6 months of 2024. The airline achieved an on-time take-off (OTP) rate of 84.1%, leading all airlines in Vietnam and much higher than the industry average (75.7%). This is a very remarkable achievement when in the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam Airlines had to face difficulties and great operating pressure such as a sharp increase in the number of flights during the peak of Tet and summer 2024, unusual foggy weather during the peak of Tet, infrastructure problems, stormy season and lack of aircraft due to global engine recalls by manufacturers...

Vietnam Airlines Deputy General Director Dang Anh Tuan said: “In the first 6 months of the year, we operated more than 55,000 flights across our domestic and international network. Although the number of flights increased sharply during peak times, we faced many challenges in terms of aircraft resources, but Vietnam Airlines still ensured a high on-time performance, the highest among all airlines. This is an important factor affirming the service quality of the National Airline”. The above results were achieved thanks to Vietnam Airlines' proactive and flexible operational management efforts. The airline has optimized flight schedules, turnaround times, maintenance work, supply of materials and pilot and flight attendant resources. Maintaining a high on-time performance for many consecutive years is a testament to Vietnam Airlines' journey of a thousand miles of care. Previously, Vietnam Airlines was ranked as one of the 5 most punctual airlines in the Asia- Pacific region (according to Cirium) along with Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Peach Aviation (all Japanese airlines) and Air Asia (Malaysia). Vietnam Airlines has also consistently recorded a high punctuality index of nearly 90% for many years.
