Vietnam Airlines and Singapore Airlines implement joint venture cooperation

According to the agreement, flights operated by Vietnam Airlines between Singapore and Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City in partnership with Singapore Airlines will display Singapore Airlines flight numbers (code SQ), and vice versa, flights operated by Singapore Airlines between Singapore and Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City will also display Vietnam Airlines flight numbers (code VN). These codeshare flights will be available for sale from October 10, 2025 on the two airlines' official distribution channels and authorized travel agents.

In 2024, the number of passengers traveling between Vietnam and Singapore will reach nearly 1.9 million; in the first 7 months of 2025 alone, it will reach nearly 1.2 million, an increase of 5.7% over the same period last year, showing strong growth potential in the aviation and tourism sector. Vietnam Airlines is currently operating flights from Singapore to Hanoi with a frequency of 7 flights per week, and to Ho Chi Minh City with 18 flights per week, providing many convenient options for passengers traveling between the two countries. In the first 8 months of 2025, Vietnam Airlines operated nearly 1,600 flights on these two routes, transporting about 261,000 passengers.

Vietnam Airlines and Singapore Airlines have had a history of cooperation for over 20 years, from passenger transport to many other key areas such as services, cargo handling, maintenance techniques and spare parts, not only helping both sides improve operational efficiency but also contributing to ensuring service quality, optimizing costs and enhancing safety throughout the entire value chain. At the same time, the close cooperation also enhances regional connectivity, creating a strong driving force for sustainable development of the aviation industry.
