During the visit, General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin; Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man chaired the official welcoming ceremony, held talks, and together with Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin co-chaired the 4th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Russian State Duma.
Through talks and meetings, General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the visit is a vivid demonstration of the will and determination to further promote the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia, contributing to further consolidating the close, trustworthy and effective relationship between the two countries in general and enhancing cooperation on the parliamentary channel in particular, especially in the year the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
At the same time, he affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with the Russian Federation; proposed that the Russian State Duma strengthen cooperation and coordination with the Vietnamese National Assembly, especially sharing experience in implementing the "Smart Parliament" initiative, perfecting the legal basis, supporting and assisting agencies and organizations of the two countries to remove difficulties and obstacles, promoting cooperation in all fields, especially in economics - trade, investment, energy, science - technology, education - training, culture and people-to-people exchange...
Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin congratulated Vietnam on achieving impressive socio-economic development results and wished Vietnam would successfully implement the tasks set by the Communist Party of Vietnam to ensure a prosperous and well-off life for the people; affirmed that he personally and the State Duma of Russia always support promoting all-round cooperation with Vietnam, and is ready, together with the Vietnamese National Assembly, to support the two countries in continuously expanding new mechanisms and directions of cooperation.
At the fourth session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Russian State Duma, the two sides agreed to adopt a Joint Communique on the results of the fourth session of the Committee, clearly defining the direction of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries in the coming time, in accordance with the nature of bilateral relations and the needs of both sides in the new context.
During the visit, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Parliament visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; laid flowers at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street; visited the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center and the Vietnam Military History Museum.
