Viettel ePass wins bid to provide non-stop toll collection system for Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway

Vietnam Digital Traffic Joint Stock Company (Viettel ePass), a member unit of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel), has just officially signed a contract to provide a non-stop electronic toll collection system (ETC) for the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway with a total winning bid price of over 109 billion VND.

Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway is 58km long, is an expressway belonging to the eastern North - South expressway axis, passing through 3 provinces and cities: Long An , Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai.

This is a strategic connection axis between the Southeast and Southwest regions, playing an important role in connecting with Long Thanh International Airport, playing a key role in inter-regional connection, reducing pressure on main routes and promoting economic development, regional infrastructure, opening another gateway for Ho Chi Minh City.

 

The deployment of ETC on the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway contributes to improving operating capacity, reducing congestion, and saving social costs.

This important package is part of the plan to complete a modern and synchronous toll collection infrastructure on the main highway. The deployment of ETC on this highway will contribute to improving operating capacity, reducing congestion, saving social costs, and at the same time ensuring strict implementation of the Government 's directive on non-stop electronic toll collection nationwide.

Notably, the winning bid price of the Viettel ePass - VVT joint venture helped the investor (Vietnam Expressway Corporation) save 28% of the approved estimated price (42 billion VND) and was 14% lower than the next contractor (17 billion VND) - affirming the competitiveness, cost optimization and efficiency in implementing digital technology solutions comprehensively owned by Vietnamese enterprises.
