The Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 ceremony recently took place in Hanoi, honoring 113 outstanding businesses and units that left a deep impression on the public. Making a mark on the tourism industry

After unprecedented difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam's tourism industry has affirmed its strong vitality, rising to become one of the bright spots of the fastest recovery in Southeast Asia. Vietnam is assessed by the ASEAN Secretariat as the country with the highest tourism recovery rate in the region, reaching 98% compared to before the pandemic. Notably, according to the latest report of the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), in the first 6 months of 2025, Vietnam's tourism growth rate reached 21%, among the highest in the world .

Mr. Ho An Phong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that Vietnam has many favorable conditions for tourism development, from rich natural landscapes, unique scenic spots to heroic historical traditions combined with unique and diverse cultural quintessence; friendly and hospitable people. The Party and the State have always paid attention to directing the tourism industry to best promote human potential, developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector. Along with political determination, many localities and tourism businesses have made efforts to create a driving force for continuous growth for Vietnam's tourism industry, surpassing expectations in both quantity and quality.

2025 is a year of special significance, with the GDP growth target reaching 8.3 - 8.5% and creating a foundation for growth in 2026 to reach 10% or more. This requires the tourism industry to develop more strongly to contribute more, striving to achieve impressive numbers: welcoming at least 25 million international visitors, 150 million domestic visitors, total revenue exceeding the one million billion VND mark.

According to Deputy Minister Ho An Phong, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been proactively coordinating closely with ministries, branches, localities and the business community to soon form a smart tourism ecosystem, associated with comprehensive digital transformation; strengthen connections, support, take the experience of tourists as the center, launch the emulation movement "Professional service, attentive service, civilized behavior, green-clean-beautiful environment" to bring smiles to Vietnamese tourism. Develop diverse and unique tourism products and services based on potential associated with promoting heritage values ​​and national cultural identity in line with the new trends of high-end resort tourism, health care tourism, agricultural tourism and regional specific products, culinary tourism.

Vinh Long contributes to affirming tourism brand

The Vietnam Tourism Awards is the most prestigious and reputable award in the Vietnamese tourism industry. In 2025, the award will enter its 20th season. Deputy Minister Ho An Phong said that the Vietnam Tourism Awards are held every 5 years to promote the emulation movement in the tourism industry and ensure service quality, diversify products, improve the professionalism of tourism businesses, contribute to gradually building the Vietnamese tourism brand, and promote tourism development into a key economic sector of the country.

With 209 entries, the Council awarded 113 awards in 11 categories with 18 titles, comprehensively reflecting the diverse development of Vietnam's tourism industry, from travel, accommodation, transportation, restaurants, spas to training, communication and product creation.

In recent times, Vinh Long Newspaper, Radio and Television have made many efforts in propaganda and promotion, actively contributing to the tourism industry with columns and articles on Vietnamese culture and tourism. These works have a widespread and attractive nature, reaching domestic and international audiences, contributing to the promotion and introduction of Vietnamese tourism.

According to Mr. Huynh Tan Phat - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vinh Long Newspaper, Radio and Television, in terms of reportage, memoir, special features and documentary programs, Vinh Long Newspaper, Radio and Television has focused on investing in programs to preserve intangible cultural values; interviewing artisans and those who have contributed to local culture, creating a bridge to bring information about the identity of the Southwest region to audiences nationwide. Typical programs such as: "Stories of the Southern Land", "Rhythm of the Delta", "Southern Travelogue" ... exploit cultural, historical, literary and artistic values ​​with high recognition, loved by audiences.

In 2023 alone, the Station cooperated in producing and broadcasting the television documentary series "The Quintessence of the South" with a total of nearly 100 episodes. The Quintessence of the South is a television documentary series that aims to introduce to the audience the quintessence of history, cultural elements both tangible and intangible, from the events of nation building and defense, from the good things built on the fertile plains of the South - the great rice granary of Vietnam. Since 2014, the Station has carried out the Cultural and Arts Magazine program, broadcast weekly, with a duration of 30 minutes/program, to quickly inform about cultural and artistic activities inside and outside the province. The program also brings educational messages about love for the homeland, country, national pride and awareness of preserving traditional cultural values ​​of the locality.

Since the beginning of 2021, the Station has broadcast over 1,300 news items, 182 articles and reports introducing the country, people, places and types of tourism in the province. On television, in the news program, over 1,400 news items and 487 articles have been broadcast promoting the province's preferential policies for tourism investors, tourism projects, local specialties and the benefits of tourism activities. In addition, the Station has also integrated the above contents into the following topics: economics, travelogues, Rhythm of the Delta, Vietnamese Kitchen and in the program Today's Stories, each topic has a duration of 15-20 minutes/broadcast.

The programs produced and broadcast by the Station have contributed to enriching the spiritual life of the people, bringing the audience moments of relaxation and entertainment, while helping them understand more about the culture and history of their homeland. Through the promotion of cultural values, it has contributed to attracting tourists and promoting local socio-economic development.

The Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 for the first time honored the category of "Media agencies with positive contributions to the tourism industry". Of which, 5 units were honored including: Vinh Long Newspaper and Radio, Television, Digital Content and Communications Center (VNA), Culture Department - News Department of Vietnam Television, Culture Newspaper (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and Check in Vietnam tourism social media channel - VTC Multimedia Communications Corporation.

This category demonstrates the important role of the press and media in promoting the image of the country, people and culture of Vietnam to international friends.
