King Quang Trung's greatest achievement was leading the Tay Son uprising with his two brothers, ending the civil war between the Trinh Dynasty (North) and the Nguyen Dynasty (South), overthrowing these two forces along with the Later Le Dynasty, ending the two-century-long division between Dang Trong and Dang Ngoai. In addition, Quang Trung was also the one who defeated the invasions of Dai Viet by Siam from the South and Dai Thanh from the North.

Historical milestones associated with Nguyen Hue:

- In 1771: Raised the flag of uprising, became one of the three highest leaders of the Tay Son movement, "Tay Son Tam Kiet" including 3 brothers: the eldest brother Nguyen Nhac (Ho Nhac) - commander in chief of the entire Tay Son movement; Nguyen Lu - general in command of logistics and provisions; Nguyen Hue - general directly commanding the army.

- September 15, 1792: Quang Trung suddenly passed away. The chaotic court led to Nguyen Anh defeating the Tay Son army. To this day, the location of King Quang Trung's tomb remains an unsolved mystery.

Why is King Quang Trung called the "red flag and cloth shirt" hero?

According to the book "History of Ancient and Medieval Vietnam", Nguyen Hue came from a pure peasant family in Binh Dinh, raised the flag of uprising, and established the career of an emperor. From a commoner (farmer), he became the emperor of a nation.

When King Quang Trung suddenly passed away in 1792, Queen Le Ngoc Han wrote the poem "Ai tu van" to mourn her husband, in which she used the line: "But now wearing a red flag and cloth shirt / Helping the people, building the country, how many projects have been accomplished". Since then, the red flag and cloth shirt has become a symbol of great achievements originating from ordinary, simple things.

In addition to the image of a hero in cloth, Quang Trung is also known for his Yen Phi Quyen martial art. According to the book "Vo Nhan Binh Dinh", King Quang Trung relied on the Than Dong, Lao Mai, and Ngoc Tran martial arts to create this martial art and used it to train the Tay Son soldiers in the period before sending troops to the North to fight against the invading Qing army. In addition, the weapon used by King Quang Trung was the O Long Dao with an ebony handle and a black metal blade. When the knife was taken out of its sheath, the cold air spread out over a wide and sharp area, helping the king achieve many feats during many years of war.

What is the famous saying of King Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue?

Hair growth

Brush your teeth to blacken them.

Beat him to the core

Beat him to pieces

Beat the enemy to make history know that the Southern nation has a hero.

Proclamation to the Army - King Quang Trung

King Quang Trung's proclamation stated the purpose of the Tay Son army's march to the North to fight against the Qing invasion and to encourage the soldiers' fighting spirit. Although it only had 35 words, the Proclamation affirmed the awareness of preserving the national cultural identity and the Vietnamese people's customs of keeping long hair and blackening their teeth.

The proclamation also expressed the determination to fight the enemy to protect national independence, to destroy the enemy so that not a single piece of armor remained, not a single vehicle returned, so that history would forever know that the heroic Vietnam had an owner.
