On the morning of August 15, a low pressure area formed in the middle of the East Sea and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on the morning of August 15, a low pressure area formed in the central East Sea.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the low pressure area in the central East Sea will move slowly in a northwest direction and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression.

Due to the influence of the low pressure area combined with the low trough, today and tonight, in the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City and the southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa special economic zone), there will be winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8. From tonight, the wind will gradually increase to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, with waves of 1.5-3m.

Tonight, in the north of the northern East Sea and the south of the central East Sea, there will be strong winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8, with waves of 1.5-3m.

In addition, today and tonight, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from South Quang Tri to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang , the Gulf of Thailand, the northern, central and southern areas of the East Sea (including the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa special zones) there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind and waves 2-3m high.

On the day and night of August 16, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ho Chi Minh City and the sea area west of the South China Sea (including the sea area west of Truong Sa special zone) will have strong southwest winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, with waves from 1.5-3m high.

The sea area north of the North East Sea has strong east to southeast winds at level 6, gusting to level 7-8, with waves 1.5-3m high.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds and large waves./.
