Firm steps in the new term

The An Giang Provincial Military Party Committee has just successfully organized the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025 - 2030 term. This is the first congress of the Provincial Military Party Committee after the merger, an important political event, opening a new development stage of the provincial armed forces.

Major General Huynh Van Ngon - Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 9 assessed: "Over the past 5 years, despite facing many new and unprecedented tasks, along with complex natural disasters and epidemics, the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command have always been united, proactive, creative, and have completed their tasks well, many of which have been excellent."

The provincial armed forces have done a good job of advising on military and defense tasks; planning and effectively investing in combat projects and defense of border lines and near-shore islands. Exercises at all levels have been organized closely, improving the leadership and management capacity of Party committees and authorities, and the ability of the forces to advise and coordinate in handling situations.

The force strictly maintained combat readiness, grasped the situation, promptly handled situations, and avoided being passive or surprised. When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, the provincial military advised and effectively implemented measures to control and prevent the epidemic, which was recognized by the Party Committee, government, and people. The provincial Border Guard closely coordinated with other forces to maintain political security, order, and social safety in the border area; performed well in border diplomacy, contributing to building a peaceful , friendly, cooperative and developed border with Cambodia.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai pointed out that An Giang is a key area in terms of national defense and security. In the context of rapid and complicated developments in the world and the region, the Provincial Party Committee and Military Command must do a good job of advising on military, national defense and border affairs. Flexibly and effectively handle situations arising right from the grassroots, avoid being passive and surprised, avoid forming "hot spots", maintain political stability, order and social security, and create a favorable environment for socio-economic development.

An extremely important task is that the Provincial Military Party Committee needs to continue to synchronously implement solutions to build a "refined, compact, strong" armed force, aiming at the goal of "revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modern"; "modernizing people before modernizing weapons and equipment". Comrade Nguyen Tien Hai directed: "Each officer and soldier must have a truly solid political stance; be good at techniques and tactics, master new and modern weapons and equipment; have innovative and creative thinking; have digital skills and master digital platforms; understand military art and the ability to coordinate operations; have strong, resilient health, meeting the special requirements of military operations in the new situation".

The 1st Provincial Military Party Congress discussed and determined that in the coming time, it would focus on improving the overall quality of the standing force, border guards, standing militia fleet, self-defense militia, and reserve mobilization. Improve the level and ability to be ready to fight and fight successfully in all situations, contributing to the implementation of the motto "protecting the Fatherland early, from afar, before the country is in danger".

Along with that, 3 breakthroughs are identified, the main targets in the new term are maintaining 100% of commune-level military party cells with Party Committees; maintaining the Party members of the Militia Squadron at 60% or more; admitting 300 or more Party members during the term...

With new requirements and tasks in the context of many intertwined advantages, difficulties and challenges, Colonel Huynh Van Khoi - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command called on all party members, cadres and soldiers to be determined to build a clean and strong exemplary Provincial Military Party Committee, a comprehensively strong "exemplary and exemplary" Provincial Armed Forces, firmly stepping forward with the entire army and people into the era of strong national development.
