Dien Khanh Vuong was the seventh son of King Gia Long. He was famous for his virtue, modesty, and loyalty to four Nguyen Dynasty kings (Gia Long, Minh Mang, Thieu Tri, Tu Duc). Dien Khanh Vuong's temple (at 228 Nguyen Sinh Cung, Hue City) was established in 1817, a complex in the Nguyen Dynasty's palace system.
In 1854, after Dien Khanh Vuong passed away, the Nguyen Dynasty built Dien Khanh Vuong's mausoleum, located in area V, An Tay ward. This is one of the typical ancient mausoleums, bearing the architectural features of the Nguyen Dynasty, and meeting feng shui standards.
