In recent years, the wave of “greening” transportation has been spreading strongly around the world, and Vietnam is no exception to this trend. More and more Vietnamese people, especially young people and those living in large cities, are gradually shifting from using traditional gasoline motorbikes to electric motorbikes - an environmentally friendly, cost-effective means of transport that is suitable for daily travel needs.
According to statistics from electric vehicle stores in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, sales of electric motorbikes in 2024 increased by about 25-30% compared to the same period last year. The reason comes not only from environmental protection awareness, but also because of superior economic efficiency.

Mr. Nguyen Gia Bach (32 years old, office worker in Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "Since switching to an electric car, I have saved nearly 1 million VND per month on gas, not to mention the very low maintenance cost. The car runs smoothly, does not make noise and is very suitable for inner-city travel."
Sharing the same opinion, Ms. Le Thi Hong Tham (35 years old, in Ho Chi Minh City) said: “I chose an electric car mainly because it is safe for my children and to protect the environment. However, I am very worried about the recent news of electric car battery explosions. If I buy one, I will carefully research which brand has safe battery technology and clear certification.”
As Ms. Tham worried, battery safety and charging system are the biggest barriers that make consumers hesitant.
According to an expert in battery and energy technology at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology: “The cause of fire and explosion often comes from poor quality batteries, outdated battery management systems (BMS) or improper charging. Users should prioritize brands that invest heavily in R&D, have standard manufacturing plants, are transparent about quality testing processes, and most importantly, battery technology must be internationally certified for safety.”
In that context, big brands with a long history of production and a clear commitment to quality are becoming bright spots. In September 2025, a group of Vietnamese reporters had the opportunity to visit the Yadea factory in Jinzhai (Anhui province, Eastern China) - one of the leading brands in the world electric vehicle market. Witnessing the production line with up to 98% automation in many stages, from plastic injection, frame welding to overall assembly, we can see the thorough investment in a quality product.

“Each of our vehicles undergoes more than 200 quality checks at the component level and 41 checks at the complete vehicle level. Safety is our core value, especially with the battery and charging system,” said Mr. Thu Kinh Dong, General Director of Yadea’s factory in Kim Trai.
Indeed, Yadea owns leading battery technologies, such as graphene lead-acid batteries with outstanding explosion-proof capabilities, stable operation in the temperature range from -20°C to 55°C, and a warranty of up to 24 months. In addition, the company is also pioneering the development of sodium-ion batteries with the advantages of super-fast charging (only 15 minutes for 80% battery), absolute safety even when punctured, and a life span of up to 1,500 cycles. These technologies are developed and tested at Yadea's 6,600 m² R&D Center, which is recognized by more than 80 countries.

It can be seen that choosing an electric motorbike is not only about the design or price, but also based on the reputation of the manufacturer, the applied technology and the commitment to quality. Brands with a methodical factory, transparent in the process and constantly innovating technology like Yadea are the names worth considering for Vietnamese consumers.
In the context of the rapidly growing electric motorbike market in Vietnam, the fact that users are alert in choosing quality and safe products is the key factor to promote the trend of "greening" transportation in a sustainable and practical way. And clearly, this transformation journey not only requires the cooperation of the people, but also requires responsibility from businesses in providing green - clean - safe products.
