"This is the last class I send you off to school as the Principal of Hanoi National University of Education. Tomorrow, other teachers will take on this responsibility and will certainly do better. However, no matter what position I hold, you will always be in my heart. The love I have for you will be in me forever," Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Minh opened his speech at the graduation ceremony of K69, Hanoi National University of Education, which took place this morning, June 9.
This year, Hanoi National University of Education recognized and awarded diplomas to 1,309 new graduates, of which 264 were classified as excellent.

Sending his best wishes to the new graduates, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh emphasized that this is a valuable asset for the future and he hopes that you will be the ones to change your life for the better.
He did not advise the new graduates about distant things, nor did he dare to talk much about the achievements of technology, because he believed that the generation of students K69 of Hanoi National University of Education had a broader perspective, grasped and understood more than the generation of teachers. Instead, Mr. Minh advised the students about the meaning of life and courage.
Life has many changes, but the responsibility of educators is always to accompany and change each person and their destiny. He believes that the students of the Pedagogical School will be the ones to make the picture of education brighter, each person better, and bring more positive energy to life.
He also did not forget to share the pain and worries of the teachers in the highlands who are constantly going through dangerous roads, risking their lives for the children or the children who are crowded together under corrugated iron roofs on hot summer days, walking to school with bare feet... He hopes that the students will go to the end of life, touch the bottom of the hearts of human beings so as not to be indifferent or apathetic, so that what is true will stand out.
The principal of Hanoi Pedagogical University also recalled the moments when he suddenly saw students playing innocently or when he saw a few students sitting pensively under the trees, which made his "heart sink".
"One day, while walking on the street, I was greeted by a motorbike taxi driver who said that he worked as a Grab driver outside of school hours. I admired and respected them, and there was much more... They gave me many valuable life lessons," Professor Minh confided.
In addition to the contributions of teachers, the Principal of Hanoi National University of Education advised students to appreciate and cherish the rough hands of their parents. "Many parents have never known how to make a birthday cake or light candles, but they silently stay up all night to comfort their children when they are in trouble. Be grateful to your parents to be grateful to this life," he said.
Before the moment of graduation, Mr. Minh did not forget to advise the new graduates to be the guardians of children's childhood. Teachers should not lose the innocence of children and we should tell parents that childhood is a magical time, ask children if they are happy at school instead of asking how many points they got today? Students and teachers should tell parents that do not force their children to mature and become tools to realize their ambitions.
"Tomorrow you will go out into the world. Never imagine that it is a place of peace, a place where you can do everything... but that is life, no one can escape it, so you have to face it. Only doing good deeds can push back the bad, but you cannot immediately erase the bad," the principal confided.
Mr. Minh also recalled the difficult days of the unforgettable COVID-19 season and when students returned to school to meet each other and teachers, it was a blessing. For generations of students, Hanoi Pedagogical University is forever a place to return to. We may be far away but never far away because we teachers and students have gone through memorable and lovely years together, and are people who value loyalty and affection, he said.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Minh (born in 1963, from Quang Tri ), has been the Principal of Hanoi National University of Education since 2013. After more than 10 years of work, according to the plan, in December 2023, Mr. Minh will finish his 2 terms as principal of the school. After leaving his leadership position, he will continue to work as a lecturer at Hanoi National University of Education.
