14,000 candidates take the separate entrance exam of Hanoi University of Science and Technology

(NLDO)- On January 18 and 19, Hanoi University of Science and Technology organized the 2025 thinking assessment exam for 14,000 candidates.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Phong Dien, Vice Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, in 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will reduce the number of exams to 3 but increase the number of exam teams in each exam.

On January 18 and 19, Hanoi University of Science and Technology organized the 2025 thinking assessment exam for 14,000 candidates.

The first round organized 2 test groups on January 18 and 19. With the test group on the afternoon of January 18, 6,891 candidates registered to take the test and completed the procedures to enter the test room. The total number of 2 test groups of the first round was 14,000 candidates.

"Candidates mainly come from the northern provinces, from Ha Tinh and beyond. The testing sites are spread across the Northern Delta region such as Hai Duong, Thai Binh , Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, etc. Testing sites in Hanoi account for 40-50% of the candidates. In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will set up an additional testing site at branch 2 of Thai Nguyen University (Lao Cai province)" - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Phong Dien said.

Also according to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Phong Dien, many modern testing technologies have been applied to this exam such as technology to build standardized thinking test questions, bridge theory in the exam, technology to grade the exam according to the multi-parameter IRT model, automatic check-in technology according to citizen identification integrated with the personal data management system to identify candidates coming to take the exam to completely prevent exam fraud and cheating in exams...

Candidates take the test entirely on the computer.

Learning from the experience of the power outage at last year's exam, this year Hanoi University of Science and Technology has had contingency plans such as limiting exams during stormy weather, preparing backup power at some exam locations, etc. If there is a widespread power outage or other unavoidable incidents, the University will arrange to re-organize the exam for candidates.

By January 24, the school will send all exam result notices to candidates.

"The school finalized all exam results on January 23. On January 24, all exam result notices were sent to candidates. This year, exam results will be digital, not sent in paper form," Mr. Nguyen Phong Dien added.

Learning from the electrical incident at last year's exam, this year Hanoi University of Science and Technology has contingency plans.

It is expected that the 3 rounds of thinking assessment tests in 2025 will meet the needs of about 75,000 test takers. Up to now, more than 50 higher education institutions have used it for admission.

According to the leaders of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the school continues with the goal of making the Thinking Assessment Test a highly classified exam, serving the university admission process.

It is expected that the 3 rounds of thinking assessment exams in 2025 will meet the needs of about 75,000 exams.
