15 days of 'lightning speed' construction of Chau Doc expressway

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province has just launched a 15-day and night peak emulation movement to speed up the construction progress of component project 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project.

On August 14, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province - sent a document to relevant departments and branches on the implementation of a number of contents after the inspection of key projects (on August 12). Including checking the progress of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Component 4 Project, Phase 1, and the East-West Economic Development Axis Road Project.

Up to now, although the projects have not achieved results as planned, the units have proactively proposed solutions to implement construction to compensate for progress in the coming time.

To speed up the construction progress of key projects, completing the disbursement target of over 95% of the annual public investment capital plan, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province assigned Project Management Board 2 to urgently coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs and related units, promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to launch a peak emulation movement "15 days and nights to speed up the construction progress of component project 4, to celebrate National Day September 2".

Regarding the East-West economic development axis project, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province requested units and contractors to ensure basic route opening by December 31, 2024.

Regarding component project 4 of Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, the head of Soc Trang provincial government requested Soc Trang Electricity Company to coordinate with Project Management Board 2 to review and have a plan to relocate medium and low voltage power lines to construct bridges in My Xuyen and Tran De districts.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province requested the contractors to re-establish the detailed construction schedule, urgently gather personnel, equipment, and materials as soon as the foundation is filled to speed up the progress, and organize construction in "3 shifts" to make up for the slow progress in the past time.

The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project Phase 1 has a scale of 4 lanes, with a total investment of 44,691 billion VND, from the state budget. The project is divided into 4 component projects and assigned to the People's Committees of provinces and cities as investors, specifically: Component Project 1 is more than 57 km long - An Giang is the investor; Component Project 2 is more than 37 km long - Can Tho City is the investor; Component Project 3 is nearly 37 km long - Hau Giang is the investor; Component Project 4 is nearly 57 km long - Soc Trang is the investor.
