Accordingly, male patient NCH (46 years old) died on the evening of June 3 and male patient DAT (15 years old) died on the morning of June 4. Previously, both patients were hospitalized in a comatose state, on a ventilator, with blood pressure difficult to measure; diagnosed with burns over 80% of the body, third degree, respiratory burns.

According to the statements of the children (when they were admitted to the hospital, they were still conscious), when they were sleeping in a room with 5 other people, they heard a loud explosion accompanied by the screams of adults. They ran to see the gas tank explode and a big fire, so they tried to escape the scene. After that, they lost consciousness, when they woke up, they found themselves rescued and lying on the street, taken to Ba Ria Hospital (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) for first aid, then transferred to Children's Hospital 1 for further treatment.
