The workshop "The role of scientific and technological information in socio-economic development" will take place at Tran Chi Dao Hall, Ho Chi Minh City National University Administration Building.

The workshop "The role of scientific and technological information in socio-economic development" chaired by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology , the Vietnam Association for Scientific and Technological Information, and Ho Chi Minh City National University will take place on the afternoon of August 29.

The workshop, organized by One World Magazine and Ho Chi Minh City National University, is expected to attract about 600 delegates, including representatives of leaders of agencies, universities, research institutes, and leading enterprises in many fields. In particular, with the spirit of bringing scientific and technological information into life, this workshop has registered to attend nearly 100 officials in charge of science, technology, and information in communes and wards in Ho Chi Minh City after the merger and arrangement of 2-level local government.

The main content of the workshop is to raise awareness of the role of scientific and technological information in the socio-economic development of Vietnam; at the same time, contribute to policy development and propose solutions to improve the effectiveness of application and management of scientific and technological information. In particular, a particularly important content is to clarify the role of scientific and technological information as a driving force for innovation, digital economic development and industrialization and modernization in the direction of Resolution No. 57.

The workshop will have many presentations such as: The important role of scientific and technological information in the education and training career in particular, and national development in general; Building a scientific and technological information ecosystem for innovation and digital economic development in Vietnam; Application of artificial intelligence (AI) - a breakthrough driving force for Vietnam in the digital age; The role of blockchain and digital assets; Application of cashless payment in the operation of the urban railway system of Ho Chi Minh City (Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro); Strategic technologies of the rising era; The need and current status of scientific and technological information for the business community, universities, research institutes, etc.

The conference hopes to promote cooperation, information sharing and innovation in the field of science and technology, promote the connection of international information and data resources: Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, Springer Nature and other international data sources; especially in strategic technology fields such as: AI and data science (AI, Machine Learning, Big Data), semiconductor and microchip technology, advanced biotechnology and biomedicine, green energy and storage technology, digital economy and digital humanities...

This in-depth workshop on the role of scientific and technological information on a large scale is even more meaningful when the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
