On September 26, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee coordinated with the Academy of Educational Management and the Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics to organize a national scientific conference with the theme "Strengthening intellectual property propaganda in the vocational education system in Ho Chi Minh City: Practical solutions associated with digital transformation".
The workshop attracted 200 delegates from management agencies, scientists, experts, businesses and vocational training institutions in Ho Chi Minh City and many provinces and cities.

In her opening speech, Ms. Le Thi Lan Phuong, Head of the Department of Science and Education, Propaganda and Mass Mobilization of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, emphasized that in the context of digital transformation and deep international integration, intellectual property (IP) plays a strategic role in protecting knowledge, promoting creativity and improving competitiveness. With vocational education, equipping students with IP knowledge is the key to forming human resources that are both skilled in their profession and knowledgeable about the law, capable of starting a business and integrating internationally. However, this work is still lacking in uniformity, lacking a unified curriculum framework and specialized staff.
From the perspective of training institutions, Dr. Nguyen Dang An Long, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics, said that schools are currently applying four models: integrating IP into specialized subjects; building consulting centers and supporting IP registration; organizing competitions and product exhibitions; and linking IP with vocational training. Although bringing certain effectiveness, these models still lack standard learning materials, depend on funding and are not sustainable.
Ms. Dang Thi Hien, Ho Chi Minh City College of Culture and Arts, cited: “Through a survey conducted with lecturers and students of the school, only 3-4% of participants really “understand and know how to apply” the concept of IP. In addition, this survey also showed that 50.7% of students and lecturers only stopped at the level of “basic understanding”, while 37.3% “heard but did not understand clearly”. Thus, nearly 9/10 of the respondents did not have adequate background knowledge”.

Delegates agreed that to improve the effectiveness of IP propaganda in vocational education, it is necessary to associate it with digital transformation, promote the application of digital technology , artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR/AR), build digital documents and diversify communication channels. According to Dr. Dang Minh Su, Principal of Danang Global Polytechnic College, only when the approach is innovated, interaction and practicality are increased, IP can truly enter the learning life, helping students improve their awareness and skills.
