Locals and authorities rushed to the accident site and rescue operations were underway. At least 10 people in critical condition have been shifted to a hospital in Jammu. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation.
India has one of the highest road death rates in the world , with hundreds of thousands killed and injured each year. Most accidents are caused by driver error, poorly maintained roads, and old vehicles.
