At about 9:15 a.m., the water level at Ngo Xa culvert (Vi Khe ward) was measured at 3.5m, about 30cm higher than alarm level I. Water had flooded the crop area and about 200 households outside the dike of Vi Luong residential group; the average water level was only about 10cm from the river embankment. Many other vulnerable areas of the ward and crops were also flooded. In this situation, the ward police advised the ward People's Committee to deploy forces to support people in evacuating people and property to a safe place, while continuing to monitor and grasp the situation.
At the same time, in Ninh Mat village (Y Yen commune), the water level of the Day River exceeded the third alarm level. The area outside the dike was flooded, threatening the crops and property of 352 households with 1,165 people living in the dike area. The police of Y Yen commune advised the People's Committee to deploy forces to support the evacuation of people, and urgently packed soil and sand to reinforce and protect the dike.
In Yen Dong commune, the rising water level of the Day River put great pressure on the dike through Trai Me village. Yen Dong commune police coordinated with functional forces and local people to participate in protecting the dike and reinforcing key locations to ensure safety for the area.
Faced with the complicated developments of storms and floods, local authorities and functional forces are stepping up their response, closely monitoring the situation, and proactively deploying prevention and control plans to protect people's lives and property and dike works.
