According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on September 14, the weather in many areas across the country continued to be complicated with scattered showers and thunderstorms, and locally very heavy rain.

In the North, on September 14, there will be widespread showers and thunderstorms in some places. Particularly in the Northwest region and Tuyen Quang province, in the evening and at night, the rain will increase with scattered thunderstorms, some places will have heavy rain, possibly exceeding 80 mm in just 3 hours. Such heavy rain can easily cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in steep mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas.

In the South Central Coast, Central Highlands and the South, the weather on September 14 also saw many thunderstorms. Notably, in the evening and at night in the Central Highlands and the South, there was moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain with rainfall of over 100 mm/3 hours. Other areas in the country had scattered showers and thunderstorms.

The meteorological agency warns that during thunderstorms, there is a high possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. People should limit going out when thunderstorms occur, and check and reinforce their houses and electrical systems to ensure safety.

At sea, on September 14, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from South Quang Tri to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to An Giang , the Gulf of Thailand, the central and southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa sea area) will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind of level 6-7, and waves over 2 meters high.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, thunderstorms will continue to occur in the above mentioned sea areas. All vessels operating in the area should pay close attention to the weather, regularly update forecast information and have timely shelter plans to guard against risks from tornadoes and strong gusts of wind at sea.
