The Department of Construction has just issued a document requesting enhanced solutions to better serve people's travel needs and ensure traffic order and safety during the National Day holiday on September 2.

The Department of Construction requires road and inland waterway passenger transport businesses to develop appropriate transport organization plans and schemes, ensuring capacity and quality of transport services to promptly respond to increased transport demand during the National Day holiday.

Road and inland waterway transport units must strictly comply with legal regulations on road and inland waterway traffic safety; comply with traffic rules, prevent accidents on steep mountain passes and at railway crossings, and strengthen inspection of safety conditions of water vehicles according to regulations before putting them into operation, specifically: life jackets, life-saving equipment, fire prevention equipment, etc.

Special attention is paid to the safety conditions of high-speed boats transporting passengers from shore to the island on the Hoi An - Cu Lao Cham National Inland Waterway.

Units operating passenger bus stations, ports, and inland waterway wharves must proactively develop plans to serve transportation during the National Day holiday; maintain and ensure operating conditions of bus stations, ports, and inland waterway wharves according to regulations.

At the same time, clean up bus stations, ports, and inland waterway wharves, arrange information locations so that passengers can proactively choose their trips, and be open, transparent, and in accordance with regulations on transportation fares, prices, and service fees at bus stations, ports, and inland waterway wharves.

The Department of Construction also requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to direct local authorities to strengthen inspection of inland waterway transport activities, focusing on inspecting the activities of cross-river passenger wharves, and the entry and exit points of rudimentary inland waterway vehicles and basket boats serving visitors and tourists .

Direct local police forces to strengthen patrols and handle violations of passenger transport by cars and four-wheeled motor vehicles; strictly handle violations of stopping, parking, picking up and dropping off passengers in violation of regulations, and the situation of "illegal buses, illegal bus stations", and "disguised vehicles" in the management area.
