Storm No. 6 has weakened into a tropical depression but will cause heavy rain in the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh until August 31.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that this afternoon, August 30, after making landfall in the Ha Tinh - Quang Tri region, storm No. 6 weakened into a tropical depression but continued to cause heavy rain.

At 4:00 p.m. the same day, the center of the tropical depression was at about 18.1 degrees north latitude and 106.1 degrees east longitude, in the Ha Tinh - northern Quang Tri area.

The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6 - level 7, equivalent to wind speed from 39 - 61 km/h, gusting to level 9.

The tropical depression is moving west at 20 - 25 km/h and weakening into a low pressure area.

Due to the influence of storm No. 6, this afternoon, Bach Long Vi special zone (Hai Phong) has strong winds of level 7, gusts of level 9. Co To special zone (Quang Ninh) has strong winds of level 7, gusts of level 8; Hon Ngu station (Nghe An) has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 9, waves 2.5 m high.

Con Co Special Zone (Quang Tri) has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8; Quynh Luu station (Nghe An) has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 9; Hoanh Son station (Ha Tinh) has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 7; Nga Son station (Thanh Hoa), Vinh station (Nghe An), Ky Anh station (Ha Tinh) has gusts of level 7.

Storm No. 6 also caused heavy rain from Nghe An to Da Nang with rainfall in some places over 300 mm.

The sea area from the south of Nghe An to the north of Quang Tri (including Hon Ngu island and Con Co special zone) has strong thunderstorms, strong winds of level 6 - level 7, gusts of level 9. Waves 2 - 4 m high, rough seas.

The northern sea area of ​​the Gulf of Tonkin and Thanh Hoa has strong winds of level 6 - level 7, gusting to level 9. Waves are 2 - 3.5 m high, and the sea is rough. On the mainland, coastal provinces from Nghe An to Quang Tri have winds of level 6, gusting to level 7 - level 8.

Also according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of the tropical low pressure circulation, from the evening of August 30 to the end of August 31, from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh there will be heavy to very heavy rain, with common rainfall of 100 - 180 mm, in some places over 300 mm.

The midland and northern delta regions and Quang Tri have moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain, with common rainfall of 40 - 100 mm, and in some places heavy rain over 200 mm./.
