Formerly famous football boss Vo Quoc Thang hopes that the third season of the Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament in 2025 will develop widely.

Following the success of 2023 and 2024, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre newspaper continue to coordinate to organize the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament.

The press conference to introduce the tournament will take place on the afternoon of September 16 in Ho Chi Minh City, kicking off the third season which promises to be very exciting.

This year, the tournament will take place in two qualifying rounds in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi instead of many qualifying rounds like the previous two years. Therefore, the level of competition will be even more fierce for the ticket to the final round in Ho Chi Minh City.

Achievements are of course the goal of teams with strong movements and systematic investment. But for many teams, being able to compete and interact with workers and civil servants in other localities is happiness.

That is also the great significance that the tournament brings. This is also agreed by the famous former boss of Vietnamese professional football Vo Quoc Thang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dong Tam Joint Stock Company.

The tournament has great significance

Mr. Vo Quoc Thang shared: "The Vietnamese workers and civil servants football tournament has a very good meaning, creating a very good movement for workers.

At Dong Tam Company or Long An International Port, there are also soccer fields for workers to play in the afternoon for fun, to improve their health and create a spirit of solidarity. And now they have a national playground to exchange and compete with each other."

"After a day of work, those who love sports will choose their favorite sport to play. Some people jog, others play tennis, badminton or football.

But no matter what sport you play, it brings people closer together. Especially football. It would be great to have a tournament for workers to compete," he added.

Last year, the Long An International Port team competed for the first time in the 2024 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament. The results were not very positive, but the players all returned with enthusiasm.

"The team really enjoyed participating in the tournament. They were very happy even though they lost a lot. This year the team also registered to participate in the tournament," Mr. Vo Quoc Thang said with a smile.

The tournament should be organized more widely.

Mr. Vo Quoc Thang said that at Long An International Port, there is a mini football field for workers to play every evening after work. So the formation of a football team to participate in the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is also a good thing.

He said: "If possible, the organizing committee should expand the organization of more qualifying rounds so that more people can participate in the tournament. The movement will therefore develop more widely.

I also have a suggestion. For the weak teams that were eliminated early, the organizers should gather them together and organize another round so they can play a few more matches to satisfy their passion."

" Tuoi Tre Newspaper should maintain this tournament. Because it is very meaningful, it creates momentum for employees to increase labor and business productivity. If I am not busy, I will come to the tournament to watch and cheer for my team," Chairman Vo Quoc Thang excitedly said.

In 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre newspaper will continue to coordinate to organize the Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament. Entering its third year of organization, the tournament has affirmed its position as an annual and prestigious playground for workers, civil servants and laborers across the country, contributing to promoting the movement of physical exercise and sports, improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers, civil servants and laborers in particular and the whole society in general.

This year's tournament is honored to receive the support of Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company (THACO); Dong Luc Sports Group; HTP Pharmaceutical Investment Joint Stock Company; Hoa Sen Group Joint Stock Company; Sunshine Group; Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO); Faslink Joint Stock Company; 108 Central Military Hospital; 175 Military Hospital and a number of enterprises.

The tournament announcement press conference will take place on September 16. This will be followed by the Northern regional qualifiers, which will take place over three days from September 26 to 28; the Southern regional qualifiers will take place from October 9 to 12. The tournament will conclude with the national finals, held in Ho Chi Minh City from October 24 to 26.
