Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said: Long Thanh Airport has fully prepared conditions for calibration flights, in which runway No. 1 has been basically completed, equipment has been installed; the air traffic control station is installing equipment, meeting the requirements for calibration flights.

Regarding the calibration flight, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the inspection and calibration flight will last more than 10 days, using Beechcraft B300 aircraft. The flights will be deployed at night or early morning, to take advantage of the open time and minimize the impact on commercial flight operations at Tan Son Nhat Airport.

During the flight, the flight crew will perform a series of complex flights to check, calibrate and evaluate the accuracy and stability of navigation and landing equipment systems such as ILS/DME, PAPI, ALS. At the same time, conduct calibration flights of PSR/SSR/ADS-B radar. Most flights will take off from Tan Son Nhat Airport, then depending on weather conditions and actual situations, specific flights will be performed in Long Thanh airspace.

Previously, from July 31 to August 2, 2025, relevant units conducted test flights and evaluated flight methods according to PBN (Performance-Based Navigation) standards at Long Thanh Airport. Long Thanh Airport has a total of 68 flight methods, including 27 departure methods (SID), 33 arrival methods (STAR) and 8 landing approach methods (IAP).

According to the Prime Minister 's request, Long Thanh Airport Phase 1 must be basically completed by the end of 2025 and put into commercial operation in the first half of 2026. ACV is expected to welcome the first commercial flight landing at Long Thanh Airport on December 19, 2025.
