Abandoned newborn baby girl on the side of the road, her body covered with insect bites

On the afternoon of October 9, a representative of Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital said that the unit had just received and treated a 3-day-old baby girl who was abandoned on the side of the road.

At around 5:30 p.m. on October 8, a woman (about 60 years old) brought the baby to Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital for emergency treatment in a state of respiratory failure, body temperature disorder, cyanosis, and many larvae, flies, and bugs biting the body, causing damage to the genitals, eyes, ears, and mouth.

After receiving the baby, the doctors actively performed first aid, giving him oxygen and antibiotics. Currently, the baby's health is stable and he can drink milk.

"During the investigation, the woman said she picked up the baby on the side of the road, but did not specify her hometown. She also intends to adopt the baby. The hospital is waiting for the baby's health to stabilize before continuing with the next steps," said a representative of Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital.
