Closing of the National U23 Volleyball Tournament: Thai Nguyen women's team won third place

After 12 days of exciting and exciting competition, the 2025 National U23 Volleyball Championship closed on the evening of July 24 at the Thai Nguyen Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center. The tournament was organized by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (General Department of Sports and Physical Training) in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province.

As a result of the tournament, in the women's volleyball category, the Information Corps team was crowned Champion, after excellently defeating Duc Giang Chemicals with an overwhelming score of 3-0 in the Final match. The two third-place teams were the Thai Nguyen and Vietinbank women's teams.

Meanwhile, in the men's volleyball event, The Cong Tan Cang team won the championship; Ninh Binh team won second prize; Ho Chi Minh City and SKH Khanh Hoa shared third prize.

At the Closing Ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the winning teams and individual titles to outstanding athletes, including: "Best Attacker of the Tournament"; "Best Defensive Player of the Tournament" and "Best Setter of the Tournament".

Athlete Dang Thi Hong of the Thai Nguyen women's team won the title of "Best Attacker of the Tournament". This is the second consecutive time that the female striker of Thai Nguyen has won this title.

In this year's tournament, under the enthusiastic cheers of the home crowd, the Thai Nguyen women's volleyball team played very impressively. However, the Thai Nguyen girls could not overcome Duc Giang Chemicals in the Semi-final match (losing narrowly with a score of 2-3). Thereby, once again "missed the appointment" with the National U23 Championship title, despite having participated in the Final match twice in a row in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the 2025 National U23 Volleyball Championship in Thai Nguyen was a great success. This year's tournament gathered 11 women's volleyball teams and 6 strongest men's volleyball teams from various sectors, units and localities across the country. The professional results of the tournament will be one of the bases for the Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation to select outstanding players for the National Team to participate in regional and international tournaments.
