On August 21, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai attended and directed the first Chau Doc Ward Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030. Chau Doc Ward was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of ​​4 wards: Vinh Nguon, Chau Phu A, Chau Phu B, Vinh My and My An hamlet (Vinh Chau commune), natural area of ^{​​41.3km2} , population of 97,438 people; has a 7km long border with the Kingdom of Cambodia.

At the first congress, term 2025 - 2030, Chau Doc ward proposed 3 breakthroughs: Reforming administrative procedures, promoting digital transformation; developing human resources; improving capacity and efficiency of local governance; investing in socio -economic infrastructure to meet the needs of central urban development of the southwestern border region.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Nguyen Tien Hai praised the achievements of the past term, which have contributed to making Chau Doc more and more worthy of its position as one of the locomotives of socio-economic development, and a typical image of the province's border city.

In the new term, the locality needs to continue to strengthen the building and rectification of the Party and the political system to be clean and strong in all aspects; determined to build a truly "streamlined - compact - strong - effective - efficient - effective" Party organization and political system, serving the people, and must consider this a decisive factor for the success of the local development process.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested the Ward Party Committee to continue reviewing, adjusting, and implementing socio-economic development plans in line with the Government's and the province's orientations, opening up investment capital flows, and creating a green, modern, and sustainable development space.

At the same time, proactively coordinate with border guards, police, and military forces in managing and firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national borders. Prevent smuggling, trade fraud, and cross-border crimes; maintain social order and security. Promote people-to-people diplomacy, enhance friendly cooperation, and develop the economy and culture with neighboring localities of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Congress announced the decision of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to appoint 32 comrades to join the Ward Party Executive Committee. Comrade Lam Quang Thi was appointed to hold the position of Ward Party Secretary for the 2025-2030 term.

At the congress, delegates contributed to support people affected by natural disasters and floods in the Central region, with a total amount of nearly 38 million VND.
