1. Le Thanh International Border Guard Station is located in Ia Dom commune. In addition to controlling people and vehicles entering and exiting the country, and protecting the assigned border, the unit also established mobile and fixed teams and posts to fight against crime and trade fraud.

During our time at the unit, we witnessed the vibrant competitive atmosphere of the officers and soldiers. Lieutenant Colonel Tran Manh Ha - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Le Thanh International Border Guard Station - said: The unit is promoting the "Determined to Win" emulation movement, achieving the highest achievements to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels. Specifically, building a unit strong in politics, ideology, organization and ethics; excellently completing political tasks; ensuring logistics and technology, improving the material and spiritual life of officers and soldiers; and at the same time improving the quality of training and combat readiness.

The "Determined to Win" emulation movement was seriously implemented, combining regular emulation with peak periods, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the unit. Thanks to that, 100% of officers and soldiers clearly defined their ideology, promoted their sense of responsibility, and were ready to receive and excellently complete all tasks.

Currently, in the border area of the province, there are 49 self-managed security and order teams in villages and hamlets; 11 self-managed border and border marker teams; and 2 self-managed teams in areas with religious followers. These forces, together with the people, have become "living border markers".

Village elder Ro Cham Tich (Mook Den 1 village, Ia Dom commune) shared: “Despite my old age, I still join the self-management team to patrol and visit border markers to affirm that the Fatherland’s sovereignty is inviolable. Only when the border is peaceful can people feel secure in developing the economy. Therefore, everyone has the responsibility to protect the border and border markers; if the elderly are enthusiastic about doing it, the young will soon follow suit and take over.”

2. Talking to us, Major General Hoang Van Sy, Commander of the 15th Army Corps, shared: Most of the Army Corps' units are located in border areas, so along with recruiting thousands of local ethnic minority workers to work as workers, the units also promote twinning activities.

Up to now, companies and units have established friendship with 33 communes; production teams have established friendship with 271 hamlets and villages; over 4,300 Kinh worker households have connected with 4,300 ethnic minority households. Many creative models such as "Unity Rice Jar", "Unity Vegetable Garden", "Sunity Star", "Unity Breakfast"... have been effective.

In recent years, Corps 15 has built 8 primary and secondary schools for localities, 11 kindergartens with 132 school locations and nurseries at companies.

In addition, Military Hospital 15 and 11 military-civilian medical clinics with a team of doctors and nurses in production teams regularly propagate, take care of health, and prevent epidemics for soldiers, workers and people. Every year, tens of thousands of people are examined and given free medicine with a budget of tens of billions of VND.

Responding to the movement "The Army joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", the 15th Army Corps has supported the construction and repair of 357 houses with a total cost of nearly 17 billion VND, mobilizing more than 15,500 working days, thousands of officers, soldiers, workers, and hundreds of vehicles to directly help people build houses. Thereby, the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" continues to spread widely, strengthening the people's trust in the Party, the State and the Army.

3. It has been more than 7 years since Son village (Ia Nan commune) was recognized as meeting new rural standards, but many people still clearly remember the challenging period of construction efforts.

When construction began, the village only met 5 criteria, and life was still difficult. However, when people understood the meaning of the program, "the Party's will meets the people's will", all difficulties were gradually overcome.

Village elder Siu Binh affirmed: “Building a new countryside is so that our children and grandchildren can have spacious schools, soccer fields, and concrete roads that are no longer muddy. A beautiful village also contributes to building a rich and beautiful border.”

Thanks to that determination, the people of Son village donated nearly 1,000 square meters of land, contributed 300 million VND and hundreds of working days to join hands in building the new countryside. At the end of 2018, Son village became the first new rural village on the western border of the province.

From this “starting shot”, the movement to build new rural areas has spread strongly along the border. According to statistics, to build 21 new rural villages in ethnic minority border areas, people have contributed more than 7 billion VND and thousands of working days to repair and upgrade roads, village gates, communal houses, and many auxiliary works.

These last days of August, wandering along the western border of the province, from patrol posts, production teams to villages, everywhere you can see the competitive atmosphere of labor production. New tiled houses are built, coffee and rubber gardens are green, people's lives are improving day by day.
