The 15th Army Corps donated more than 500 million VND to the Cuban people.

(GLO)- The Party Committee and Command of the 15th Corps recently held a launching ceremony for a program to support the Cuban people with the theme "65 years of Vietnam-Cuba friendship". Major General Hoang Van Sy - Corps Commander attended and chaired the launching ceremony.

Also attending were comrades in the Party Committee, the Corps Command and all leaders, commanders, officers, soldiers, workers and civil servants of the Corps' Defense Agency. In particular, the launching ceremony had the participation of 20 comrades who are officers of the Ministry of Defense of the Lao People's Democratic Republic who are training in the field of agriculture at Vocational College No. 21 (Corps 15).

Speaking at the launching program, Major General Hoang Van Sy - Commander of the 15th Corps emphasized: Over the past 65 years, the special solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba has become a rare and exemplary symbol in international relations. The Cuban people have wholeheartedly helped Vietnam in both the resistance war and in national construction. Currently, Cuba is facing many difficulties and challenges in economy, society and life. Responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross , the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the Party Committee - Command of the Corps launched a wide-ranging movement to support the Cuban people throughout the Corps.

Responding to the call, agencies and units in the 15th Army Corps have so far contributed more than 500 million VND. According to the plan, the campaign will last until August 30. All funds will be collected and transferred to the Ministry of National Defense according to regulations, contributing to sharing difficulties and strengthening the special solidarity and friendship between the armies and people of Vietnam and Cuba.
