Cho Moi - Bac Kan route has officially started construction with a total length of more than 28km, total investment of more than 5,750 billion VND.
This morning (March 15), the Ministry of Construction coordinated with the People's Committee of Bac Kan province to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the Cho Moi - Bac Kan route construction investment project.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh said that currently, our country has put into operation 2,021km, by the end of 2025 about 3,000km will be put into operation and by the end of 2050 about 5,000km will be put into operation.

Assessing the important role of the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan - Cao Bang economic corridor connecting the northern mountainous provinces with the capital Hanoi, according to Minister Tran Hong Minh, the corridor has now formed a connection from the capital Hanoi to Thai Nguyen province.
The Cho Moi - Bac Kan route is being invested in the immediate future to connect Bac Kan City with Hanoi Capital, meeting the need for convenient and safe transportation, creating a driving force for spreading socio-economic development on this corridor, gradually completing the road network planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
"Investing in the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway will connect Bac Kan with the capital Hanoi and Hai Phong international seaport through a modern and convenient road traffic system, reducing transportation time and costs, supporting investment attraction, strengthening regional connectivity, and connecting localities," Minister Tran Hong Minh emphasized.
Minister Tran Hong Minh and delegates pressed the button to start the investment project to build the Cho Moi - Bac Kan route.
To complete the project with quality assurance and on schedule, the Minister of Construction requested the People's Committee of Bac Kan province to continue to focus on and resolutely organize the implementation of site clearance and resettlement work; and support the quick settlement of licensing procedures for mining construction material mines.
"Investors, supervision consultants, design consultants and construction contractors must develop scientific construction plans and methods, suitable to actual conditions, ensuring progress, quality, safety, environmental sanitation; and strictly comply with the project's technical requirements and relevant legal regulations," the Minister directed.
On the local side, Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province, said that the province has actively implemented site clearance, compensation and resettlement support so that the project can start construction as planned.
The Cho Moi - Bac Kan route construction investment project has a total length of more than 28km with a total investment of more than 5,750 billion VND from the State budget.
The route is designed according to the standards of a class 80 highway, with a design speed of 80km/h, a scale of 4 lanes, a roadbed width of 22m; the connecting section has a roadbed width of 12m.
Service roads, cross-roads, and return roads are invested and constructed in accordance with the current or planned road level. The minimum scale of a grade B rural road is 5m wide on the roadbed and 3.5m wide on the road surface.
The project implementation period is 24 months, ensuring basic completion in 2026.
