The competition took place from August 5 to September 2 with the theme "Promoting the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, coordination, and resolutely fighting against illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing".
Through the emulation campaign, it is aimed to motivate and encourage officers and soldiers to be united, dynamic, creative, overcome difficulties, and be determined to fight and effectively prevent crimes and violations of IUU fishing; contribute with all levels, sectors, forces, Party committees and authorities of coastal localities in the area to do a good job serving the EC inspection team to work in Vietnam for the 5th time, towards removing the IUU yellow card; effectively protect, regenerate and exploit aquatic resources in a sustainable manner.
Colonel Tran Nguyen Lai, Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Commander - Chief of Staff, Head of the Steering Committee of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command on IUU, spoke at the launching ceremony of the peak emulation campaign.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Tran Nguyen Lai, member of the Party Standing Committee, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff, Head of the Steering Committee of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command on IUU emphasized: "The peak emulation period is an activity of practical and urgent significance, demonstrating the strong and decisive action spirit of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command in response to the urgent requirements of the task of combating IUU fishing, contributing to the whole country's early removal of the yellow card of the European Commission. Therefore, it is required that Party committees and commanders at all levels clearly understand their roles and responsibilities in conjunction with the specific functions and tasks of each agency and unit, and be determined to act decisively and most effectively to excellently complete the contents and targets of the emulation period."
