What did singer Bich Tuyen say about the "huge" compensation amount?

Singer Bich Tuyen and her technology businessman husband Gerard Richard Williams said they would not accept the $15 million compensation demanded by singer Dam Vinh Hung for the accident that severed his toe.

Sharing with PV Dan Viet on November 22, singer Bich Tuyen said that she and her husband are currently not in agreement with the compensation amount that Dam Vinh Hung is demanding of 15 million USD. From the US, singer Bich Tuyen said: "Regarding Dam Vinh Hung's lawsuit of 15 million USD, my husband has done nothing wrong to demand such a large amount of compensation."

Singer Bich Tuyen added that she and her husband will not compromise on the amount of compensation Dam Vinh Hung requested: "We will go to court, we will not negotiate or compromise with Dam Vinh Hung."

According to information provided by singer Bich Tuyen, the trial of the lawsuit between her and Dam Vinh Hung will take place earlier than originally scheduled in June 2025.

It is known that singer Dam Vinh Hung and singer Bich Tuyen's family used to have a close relationship with each other, however the current relationship between the singer and Dam Vinh Hung has changed after the lawsuit. The singer frankly shared: "Currently, my husband and I and Dam Vinh Hung have turned our backs on each other. We are waiting for the court to resolve the lawsuit."

Singer Bich Tuyen said that she and her husband had worked with the team of lawyers on the lawsuit from Dam Vinh Hung and found that some details were inaccurate and did not reflect the true nature of the incident. "Although I wanted to call Dam Vinh Hung directly, I realized that this was not the right time. All exchanges between the two sides need to go through lawyers and under the supervision of the authorities," Bich Tuyen said.

Dan Viet reporters contacted Dam Vinh Hung to find out more information about the incident. However, the male singer has yet to respond.

Regarding the lawsuit, singer Dam Vinh Hung asked Mr. Gerard Richard Williams (51 years old) to compensate an amount of about 15 million USD. The singer of "Say tinh" mentioned the health, mental and financial losses after the accident that occurred at Mr. Gerard Richard Williams's mansion in Newport Coast, California in February 2024.

According to the lawsuit, plaintiff Hung Huynh (known by his stage name as singer Dam Vinh Hung) sued Mr. Gerard Richard Williams for allegedly failing to ensure the safety of guests at a party held at a mansion in Newport Coast.

The incident left the singer seriously injured and had to amputate several toes. Dam Vinh Hung said the accident forced him to change his schedule, canceling many performances in March and April 2024 to focus on treatment, resulting in significant financial losses. His spirit was also affected.

In the petition , the male singer stated that on February 19, while attending a party at Mr. Gerard's residence, he was hit in the foot by debris from a concrete fountain. This fountain was used as a stage and an outdoor beverage counter but broke during the event. Dam Vinh Hung said that the defendant did not inspect and maintain the construction items according to regulations, leading to a serious incident. He requested Mr. Gerard to compensate him for the amount of money corresponding to the cost of treatment, financial loss due to canceled performances and compensation for mental damage.

The California Supreme Court confirmed it had accepted the case on November 4 and sent it to the judicial branch for processing. The first hearing is scheduled for June 2025.

Dam Vinh Hung's real name is Huynh Minh Hung, born in 1971 in Quang Nam . In 1998, he won the fourth prize of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing Contest. In the early 2000s, he attracted attention with two songs "Love, please sleep peacefully" and "Birthday will take you away", after which the male singer's name became famous both at home and abroad.

Gerard Richard Williams (51 years old) is a wealthy businessman, starting his career in the technology industry. He is well known in the Vietnamese community in California thanks to his love of art and his marriage to singer Bich Tuyen.
