(HNMO) - On the evening of May 23, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Hanoi City requested districts, towns and cities to prepare tools and materials, conduct patrols and guard to protect dykes to serve the work of natural disaster prevention and control during the 2023 flood season.
Specifically, districts, towns and cities arrange and organize forces to patrol and guard the dikes; prepare tools and materials on-site at the dike watch points and carry out patrolling, guarding and protecting the dikes.
Regarding the preparation of tools and materials on-site at dike watchtowers, units and localities, depending on the specific characteristics and situations in the area, will supplement or replace them with suitable tools and materials, ensuring the "4 on-site" motto, fully and promptly responding to plans, solutions and situations of natural disasters and incidents that may occur; pay attention to preparing tools and materials to ensure necessary living conditions for the standing force at dike watchtowers...
In addition to the above tasks, districts, towns and cities with dykes must seriously inspect motor vehicles traveling on the dykes during the rainy season...
