The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) said Tan Son Nhat is one of the three most important and largest airports in the country. The construction of Terminal T3 with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year will "share the burden" of the currently overloaded Terminal T1, improving the quality of service for the people.
Currently, the T3 terminal construction project has completed the concrete and rough architecture. Of which, the 7,500-ton steel roof structure and 45,000m2 aluminum roof have reached 100%. The glass wall part has reached 94%, expected to be completed in December 2024.
At the same time, many other items of T3 terminal have been and are being completed. Up to now, the total volume has reached about 83%, striving to complete the whole by April 30, 2025 for operation and exploitation.
Mr. Le Khac Hong - head of Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal project management board - said the project has achieved good results in many aspects of construction progress and quality, as well as labor safety.
"To inaugurate the project on April 30, 2025, we must complete the project one month earlier, meaning there are only 90 days left to complete the project. This is a huge challenge, requiring relevant units to be more united, to try harder and to be more determined.
Therefore, the construction site management board needs to pay special attention and promptly resolve any problems that arise during construction, creating the most favorable conditions for contractors.
"We will mobilize all resources to the maximum, find solutions to ensure the completion of equipment installation, safe and quality operation and acceptance, and ensure the completion of the project and its commissioning," said Mr. Hong.
