Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attends the groundbreaking ceremony of two major projects in Hai Phong

Also attending the event were comrades: Former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former President Nguyen Minh Triet; former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; former Standing member of the Secretariat Phan Dien; leaders of central departments, ministries and branches; leaders of Hai Phong city; representatives of embassies and international organizations in Vietnam.

The Tan Trao Industrial Park infrastructure development investment project is invested by Vinhomes Hai Phong Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company; with an area of nearly 227 hectares, located in Kien Hung and Nghi Duong communes, with a total capital of more than 4,000 billion VND in phase 1. Tan Trao Industrial Park, built in 5 years, is expected to become one of the new growth drivers contributing to increasing investment attraction for Hai Phong and becoming a model industrial center of the country.

After completion, Tan Trao Industrial Park will become a major center of new industry and technology with advanced technical infrastructure, attracting investment in many industries such as: electricity, electronics, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, supporting industries, new materials, clean energy industry, renewable energy, etc. In particular, this place will gather tens of thousands of high-quality human resources from across the country and internationally.

The Hai Phong LNG Thermal Power Plant construction project is located in Tan Trao Industrial Park, invested by the Vingroup Joint Stock Company and VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company; on an area of nearly 100 hectares, with a total capital of more than 178,000 billion VND. The plant has a designed capacity of 4,800 MW (phase 1 is 1,600 MW, phase 2 is 3,200 MW).

The plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2030, providing approximately 9.6 billion kWh/year (phase 1) and 19.2 billion kWh/year (phase 2). This will be the largest thermal power plant in Vietnam and the world's leading LNG power plant.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other leaders and former leaders of the Party and State simultaneously performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the two above-mentioned projects.

Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister emphasized that our country is implementing two 100-year strategic goals in conditions with many difficulties and challenges. Therefore, to achieve the goals, we must be proactive, independent, and self-reliant in politics, economics, culture, society, security, and defense... To concretize the Party's national development guidelines, the Politburo has issued and implemented strategic policies and decisions such as: breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, national digital transformation; deep and effective international integration; private economic development... In particular, Hai Phong is one of the pioneering provinces and cities in innovation, double-digit growth, and in many other fields.

The Prime Minister said that the two projects were started in line with the country's development strategy, implementing economic restructuring, and renewing the growth model for rapid and sustainable development. In particular, Tan Trao Industrial Park will attract selective investment with high-tech projects, investors must transfer technology, participate in human resource training and transfer management experience. The Hai Phong LNG Thermal Power Plant is a typical project for green development.

Praising the ministries, sectors, Hai Phong city and investors for their preparations to start the two projects, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the ministries and sectors to continue supporting Hai Phong city and investors to complete the legal procedures of the project. Hai Phong city completed site clearance, administrative procedures, and necessary infrastructure for enterprises to implement the project.

Vingroup Corporation promotes the brand of "fast, green and sustainable", "what is said is done, what is committed must be implemented with real results", promptly completes projects, ensures quality, safety, technique, aesthetics, environmental sanitation; creates many jobs for people, especially, must urgently promote technology transfer activities, gradually master technology.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Government agencies "do not say no, do not say difficult, do not say yes but do not do", contributing to the early completion and effective promotion of projects, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in localities, regions and the whole country.
