Flood warning on Cau River, Thuong River and Luc Nam River

BAC NINH - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the water level in the upper reaches of the Thuong River, Luc Nam River (Bac Ninh Province) and Cau River (Thai Nguyen Province) is rising rapidly.

The downstream of Luc Nam River at Luc Nam station is rising rapidly but still below alert level 1, the downstream of Thuong River and Cau River is changing slowly. The water level at 1 p.m. on August 21, at some stations is as follows:

Ngheo village, Tuan Dao commune was affected by floods.

On Luc Nam River at Chu station is 11.63m, below alarm level 2 is 0.37m;

On Thuong River at Cau Son station 15.23m, above alarm level 2 is 0.23m;

On Cau River at Thac Gieng station 97.34m, below alarm level 2 by 0.16m.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns: From August 21 to August 23, a flood will occur on the Cau River, Thuong River, and Luc Nam River. In which, the flood peak at stations upstream of the Thuong River and Luc Nam River is likely to reach alert level 2 - alert level 3; downstream of the Thuong River at Phu Lang Thuong Station and downstream of the Luc Nam River at Luc Nam Station at alert level 1 - alert level 2; downstream of the Cau River at alert level 1.

There is a high risk of flooding in low-lying areas along the Cau River, Thuong River, and Luc Nam River; flash floods and landslides on steep slopes in mountainous areas of Bac Ninh , Lang Son, and Thai Nguyen provinces.

The impact of floods on rivers and streams can cause flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, affecting activities such as waterway transport, aquaculture, agricultural production, people's lives and socio-economic activities.
