(Baohatinh.vn) - From 8:00 a.m. on August 28, the Vung Ang - Bung expressway connecting Ha Tinh province with Quang Tri province (formerly Quang Binh province) will officially be put into operation on the entire route.

This information was confirmed by Mr. Nguyen Huy Cuong - Executive Director of Vung Ang - Bung Expressway Project (Project Management Board 6 - Ministry of Construction ) with Ha Tinh Newspaper.

To ensure safety for people and vehicles traveling on the Vung Ang - Bung Expressway, Project Management Board 6 requires contractors and supervision consultants to review the section in charge, remove obstacles, and facilitate traffic.

Before being put into operation, the State Inspection Council on construction acceptance inspected the investor's completion acceptance work for the Vung Ang - Bung expressway.

According to the assessment of the council members, based on the field inspections, construction and acceptance records and reports of the investor and construction participants, the construction items on the Vung Ang - Bung expressway basically meet operational requirements.

The Vung Ang - Bung Expressway was put into operation, contributing to facilitating people's travel during the National Day holiday on September 2.

The operation of the Vung Ang - Bung expressway helps to connect smoothly from Hanoi to Quang Tri, facilitating trade between provinces in the North Central region, contributing to the socio -economic development of the region.

The Vung Ang - Bung section project is about 55.34 km long, passing through Ha Tinh province (12.9 km) and Quang Binh - now Quang Tri (42.44 km), started in January 2023 with a total investment of 12,548 billion VND. To date, this project has completed the main route.

The project has its starting point at Km 658+200, in Ky Tan commune, old Ky Anh district (now Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province) connecting with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section component project; the end point is about Km 624+228.79 in Cu Nam commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province (now Bo Trach commune, Quang Tri province) connecting with the Bung - Van Ninh section component project.

On the route there are 2 interconnecting intersections including: Tien Chau - Van Hoa intersection (about Km 597+900), National Highway 12A intersection (about Km 605+500).

At the investment phase, the expressway has 4 lanes, no emergency lane, and a number of emergency stops are arranged every 4-5 km/point with a roadbed width of 17 m, and a design speed of 60-90 km/h.
